Stanford Autism Conference 2012

Stanford Autism ClinicIf you live in Silicon Valley, and have a child or student on the autistic spectrum (ASD, PDD-NOS), please consider attending the 5th annual day long symposium on autism at Stanford. This year, the conference leans towards medical intervention, but also features talks on behavior challenges, law and language. Speakers from Stanford include Drs. Feinstein, Hardan, Pelayo and Phillips. The most powerful experience I had at last years event was networking with local autism care providers and meeting parents with the common focus of meeting their children’s challenging needs.  Resources and providers for people with autism in the Bay Area of California are spread very thin, given the exceptionally high concentration of people on the spectrum who live here.  Learning how to access local services and support groups is key for families.  The Stanford Autism Conference on Saturday, May 12, is a terrific resource.
